HB Aspects of Havergal Brian
Edited by Jurgen Schaarwachter
Indeed it was partly due to the scale of his works that so little of Brian's music was performed during his lifetime.
The establishment of a new Havergal Brian Society in 1974 served to bring his music to greater prominence. In 1975 the society launched its newsletter and the number and quality of the articles published in it indicates the attention which Brian's music merits.
This volume brings together a wide selection of those articles which include interviews, personal recollections of Brian and several music examples. The book concludes with a recently updated catalogue of works.
236 x 156 mm 440 pages. £45.
